Appointment of new Complaints Commissioner
We welcome the appointment of Treasure Jennings as the new Aged Care Quality and Safety Complaints Commissioner. Minister for Aged Care and Seniors, the Hon Sam Rae MP announced the appointment today. Ms Jennings will join the Commission from 1 November 2025.
Commissioner Liz Hefren-Webb is pleased to welcome Ms Jennings to the Commission, “The appointment of a Complaints Commissioner is a significant development for the Commission under the new Aged Care Act 2024. I am looking forward to working with her to deliver the Commission's purpose - to uphold the rights of older people accessing aged care and to protect and enhance their safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life.”
The Aged Care Complaints Commissioner is independent and reports directly to the Minister. The Complaints Commissioner is appointed to establish and oversee the Commission’s processes for dealing with complaints about aged care services, promoting restorative solutions to issues or concerns.
Ms Jennings is currently the Chair Commissioner at the Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission in Victoria, where she led the establishment of the new Commission in response to the Royal Commission into Mental Health.
She brings over 20 years’ experience in complaints oversight, regulatory reform and stakeholder engagement, driving accountability, quality and human rights protections in complex service environments to the role.
Ms Jennings has led regulatory and oversight bodies across disability, mental health, transport, education and essential services in both the private sector and Victorian State Government.
