Standard 3: The care and services explains how providers need to deliver funded aged care, for all types of services. It’s about how you can support your workers and make sure each older person receives care and services that are tailored to and meet their needs.
Under this standard, you must:
- work with older people to develop and review their care and services plans
- provide care that meets the needs, goals and preferences of older people
- effectively communicate important information to the people who need it
- make sure you plan and coordinate services.

Who Standard 3 applies to
Standard 3 applies to Australian Government-funded aged care providers registered in:
- Category 4 – personal care and care support in the home or community (including respite)
- Category 5 – nursing and transition care
- Category 6 – residential care (including respite).
