We provide education and training to help you understand your obligations and provide safe, high-quality care.
Online learning: Alis
Aged care providers and workers can access learning content on our Aged Care Learning Information Solution (Alis) learning platform.
If you have an internet connection, you can access Alis from any PC, laptop, tablet or phone device.
Alis can help you better understand:
- the Code of Conduct in Aged Care (the Code)
- the Aged Care Quality Standards (the Quality Standards)
- the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)
- effective Incident Management Systems (IMS)
- clinical governance
- provider governance
- financial and prudential compliance
- food, nutrition, and dining.
Alis is free if you work for an approved aged care provider. Aged care learning managers and administrators can help you sign up and access our content. You must link your account to your service provider to register for Alis.
If you don't work for an approved provider, you can access Alis for an annual fee of $30.
You can use the individual self-registration form to set up your profile. Once you submit your details, we'll give you a username and password (take note of these). You'll then either link your account to your employer or pay for content.
Registered users can access completed content again, but the system records the first program completion for reporting purposes.
You can log your online learning as part of your continuing professional development (CPD).
If you need help accessing Alis, email us at education@agedcarequality.gov.au.
Linking to your employer
To access free Alis content, you must be linked to a Commonwealth-funded aged care provider as your employer.
After you enter your details in the registration page, select 'link to your employer.' You'll see a drop-down list of providers registered with Alis.
If your employer is in the list
If you can see your employer in the drop-down list, select 'add organisation' to submit your request. This will generate an email to your organisation's administrator, asking them to approve your registration and give you access to Alis content.
Don't select an approved provider as your organisation unless you're based at its head office. You must select service providers only.
If your employer isn't in the list
If your employer isn't in the drop-down list, complete the 'Can't find your organisation' form. Our team will then contact your employer and guide them through the registration process.
Workshops
We offer workshops to help aged care workers and providers to apply key quality and safety principles.
