Being a member of a consumer advisory body gets your voice heard. Your feedback can change the way your service provides care.
Our toolkit can help you join, start, or participate in a consumer advisory body. It has information to help you with meetings, guide discussions and support other members to take part.
The toolkit includes:
- a guide that explains what consumer advisory bodies are, the role of members and the provider, a checklist for the first meeting, and tips for working with other members and the provider
- discussion cards that are designed to guide discussions in meetings. The cards cover relevant topics and questions related to care and services
- a guide that explains what discussion cards are, where to find them and how to use them
- a discussion card template that members can fill out with their own discussion topics and questions for meetings
- a welcome letter template that provides information to new members
- a meeting agenda template that can be used to plan meetings
- a meeting minutes template that can be used to record notes and actions from meetings.
