Serious risk decision
Following a review audit conducted from 12 September 2018 to 20 September 2018, a delegate of the CEO of the Quality Agency made a decision that The Queen Victoria Home Inc. failed to meet seven expected outcomes in the Accreditation Standards in relation to The Queen Victoria Home.
On 19 October 2018 a decision was made that the failure to meet two of these expected outcomes has placed the safety, health or wellbeing of care recipients of the service at serious risk. The Department of Health has been notified of the risk.
An assessment contact was conducted on 17 January 2019 at The Queen Victoria Home to monitor the service’s progress. The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission found the service complies with all Accreditation Standards.
Serious risk is not an ongoing state; it is a statutory decision based on evidence at a point in time.
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission will continue to monitor the performance of the service including through unannounced visits.
