Accreditation decision

Following a site audit conducted on 15 August 2022 to 19 August 2022, the Commission made a decision on 15 September 2022 to re-accredit this service.

The decision on the service’s accreditation period was varied following reconsideration on own initiative on 16 July 2025.

The period of accreditation of the service will expire on 15 March 2026.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission has temporarily modified our Regulatory Program, including the suspension of site audits to determine whether to accredit, not to re-accredit or vary the periods of accreditation for a service. 

In order to give effect to continuity of accreditation the Department of Health has, under Section 42.5 of the Aged Care Act 1997, made a decision to grant ‘exceptional circumstances’ to this service 14 February 2023.

The service remains subject to compliance monitoring by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

Accreditation decision

Following a site audit conducted on 13 to 17 January 2020, the Commission made a decision on 14 February 2020 to re-accredit this service.

The period of accreditation of the service will expire on 14 February 2021.

The Performance Report is attached.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 44 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards and would be accredited for one year until 14 February 2020.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 23 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards. We decided to vary this home’s accreditation period. This home is now accredited until 14 February 2019.

Serious risk decision

On 17 August 2018 a delegate of the CEO of the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency made a decision that failure by BaptistCare NSW & ACT to meet one expected outcome in the Accreditation Standards in relation to BaptistCare Griffith has placed the safety, health or wellbeing of a care recipient of the service at serious risk.

A site audit was conducted by the Quality Agency on 12 December 2018 to 14 December 2018 at BaptistCare Griffith to assess the performance of the service against the Accreditation Standards. The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission found the service complies with all Accreditation Standards.

Serious risk is not an ongoing state; it is a statutory decision based on evidence at a point in time.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 44 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards and would be accredited for three years until 17 June 2021.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 43 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards and would be accredited for three years until 17 June 2018.
