Following a site audit conducted on 4 to 6 February 2020, the Commission made a decision on 24 February 2020 to re-accredit this service.

Compliance monitoring update

An assessment contact was conducted by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (Commission) on 22-23 May 2019 at Carinya Residential Care Centre to monitor the service’s progress in meeting the Accreditation Standards. The Commission found the service complies with all Accreditation Standards.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 35 of 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards. We decided to vary this home's accreditation period. This home is now accredited until 05 April 2020.

Serious risk decision

On 5 April 2019 a delegate of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner made a decision in relation to Carinya Residential Care Centre that failure to meet one expected outcome in the Accreditation Standards placed the safety, health or wellbeing of a consumer of the service at serious risk.

An assessment contact was conducted by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (Commission) on 22 May 2019 to 23 May 2019 at Carinya Residential Care Centre to assess the performance of the service against the Accreditation Standards. The Commission found the service complies with all Accreditation Standards.

Serious risk is not an ongoing state; it is a statutory decision based on evidence at a point in time.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 44 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards and would be accredited for three years until 06 December 2021.
